Ward 5 asks for competence, responsiveness, and thoughtful decision-making. It is made up of established neighborhoods, working families, seniors, newcomers, and businesses. It is a hive of diversity which cannot have meaningful leadership without understanding needs of its residents, and needs of its businesses. Thus, I will follow first.

I am also uniquely positioned to lead. My work on the Planning and Zoning Commission has given me a clear view of how city decisions affect residents every day—from housing density and traffic flow to environmental impact and long-term infrastructure costs. Too often, residents feel decisions are made about them rather than with them.

I am running for City Council because Ward 5 deserves a representative who asks hard questions, reads the details, and listens carefully. Someone who understands both the technical side of city planning and the lived experience of residents.

I will Follow to Lead.

Rochester has been my home for 23+ years — by choice. Running for Rochester City Council, Ward 5, in the 2026 election is a natural next step in giving back to the community that has shaped who I am for the last two decades.

I have worked at Mayo Clinic since 2008 as a Statistical Programmer in Quantitative Health Sciences, supporting medical researchers with data management and statistical analysis. Over time, as I became more rooted in the city, I started asking questions. Why was a senior living facility built at the intersection of 16th Street SW and Mayowood?  Why do we have traffic circles where simpler solutions might suffice?  Why is Rochester International Airport so under-served?  Why do property taxes continue to rise year after year?

Those questions gradually evolved into a desire to be part of the decision-making process rather than merely reading about outcomes after the fact.

In 2021, I interviewed with Mayor Kim Norton and was appointed to the Rochester Planning and Zoning Commission in 2022. I served as Vice Chair through 2024 and was nominated Chair in 2025.

I also serve on the Joint Airport Zoning Board, a newly formed regional body.
